Day 1:
Today you will be met at the Cape Town Airport for your transfer to Sea Star Cliff Luxury Lodge. You will have the remainder of the day at leisure.
-
Day 2:
This morning you will be picked up at your hotel for your private full day Cape Point Tour. Your journey to Cape Point takes us along the scenic Atlantic seaboard coastal road. Pass the pristine beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay with their soft white sand and azure blue water. The formidable 12 Apostles Peaks rise above the road on one side, while sheer cliffs and incredible rock formations drop into the icy Atlantic Ocean on the other side. There is no doubt the coast of the Cape peninsula offers magnificent scenery with its great biodiversity. Arrive at the quaint fishing village of Hout Bay with its imposing Sentinel. Visit Seal Island (own account) or shop for souvenirs at the craft market at the harbor. Your tour continues over Chapman’s Peak which offers amazing photo opportunities, and onto the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. This area is home to magnificent ‘fynbos’, many different species of antelope and birds, the Cape Mountain Zebra, and mischievous baboons. These creatures entertain guests enjoying lunch at the restaurant, which has splendid views of False Bay. Take the funicular to the lighthouse to see the meeting of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans at the Cape Point. Visit Boulders Beach to see the Jackass penguins, travel through the naval base of Simonstown and then venture inland to your last stop of the day at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. With the sun setting over the tall peaks of Table Mountain the last rays sparkle on the trees and flowers and offer a fitting end to a day filled with all the Cape has to offer.

Day 3:
This morning you will be picked up at your hotel and taken on a private tour of the Cape Winelands. Heading north to Paarl, your first stop this morning is at Anura Wine Estate for a cheese and wine tasting. Then the tour makes its way to Franschhoek, with a photo stop en route, at the Groot Drakenstein Prison where Nelson Mandela was released in Feb 1990. The village of Franschhoek nestled amongst the mountains, can easily be mistaken as being in Switzerland. After a short tour of the little town, a second wine tasting will take place in Franschhoek, followed by a lunch stop, and maybe a chance to try some of the fresh trout that Franschhoek is known for. After lunch the tour continues over the Hells Hoogte Mountain Pass to Stellenbosch. It is easy to understand why Simon van der Stel decided to settle a village amongst the mountains. The backdrop of the Hottentots Holland Mountains, the white gabled Cape Dutch homesteads and the oak lined streets and lanes all blend in to give this place a charm that will not be forgotten. Time permitting, you will include a third wine tasting. Return to Cape Town with amazing photos and fond memories.

A Typical Day on Safari:
The day starts as dawn breaks over the African bushveld. After your early morning wakeup call, coffee, tea & light snacks are served. Shortly after, you depart in your vehicle with your experienced rangers and, potentially, trackers who will share their extensive knowledge of the bush with you. These drives are undertaken at times best suited for game viewing which vary depending on the season but typically start early morning. Where applicable you may be invited out of the vehicle to see tracks, examine certain plants and follow spoor.
After an exhilarating hunt for tracks to see what the animals have been up to during the night, and tracking down whatever you find, you will stop somewhere out in the bush for a break of coffee & tea and to stretch your legs. After, a sumptuous breakfast is served either back at the camp or in the bush.
During the day, guests are also offered bush walks to suit their interests and fitness levels and are accompanied by an armed ranger and tracker. Walks allow guests a better chance to see some of the smaller creatures of the bush as well as an opportunity to learn more about the flora and fauna of the region and to have a chance to follow tracks in more detail.
The rangers will enthrall you with their explanations of the medicinal and other uses of the numerous plants and trees along with tales of traditional folklore.
The rest of the day is spent at the discretion of the guest for other activities that are on offer, or to simply relax, with a delicious lunch being served midday.
The afternoon game drive is preceded by high tea and extends into the evening for a chance to view seldom seen nocturnal species by torchlight.
Upon returning for a gourmet dinner, either in the boma, bush or lodge to mix it up each evening - guests can socialize with one another and their rangers before retiring to bed for another day's adventure.
Where possible, safaris will be tailored to suit individual preferences and interest.
-
Day 6:
Enjoy morning and late afternoon game safaris in the African bush with experienced game rangers. Safari game drives are undertaken at the best times of the day to avoid the harsh African sun while the rest of your day may be enjoyed at leisure at the lodge and you have the chance to partake in the many of the extra activities the reserve has to offer.
Overnight at Kapama Karula Lodge on a fully inclusive basis.
-
Day 7:
Participate in the game viewing and other activities at the lodge or simply relax in the peaceful surrounds of the African bush.
