Uganda Primate Safari

• Day 1:

  On arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

  Overnight on a bed and breakfast basis at Lake Victoria Serena Resort.

• Day 2:

  After breakfast you will be met and transferred to Kibale Forest National Park, and you will experience a Bigodi nature walk.

  The Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is a fascinating area, located in Magombe swamp. This area is recognized for an extensive array of biodiversity among which are several primates species like the red colobus monkey, baboon, black & white colobus monkey, blue monkey grey cheeked, mangabey, vervet monkey, red tailed monkey and the L’Hoest monkey. Additional Mammals such as chimpanzees, Sitatunga, mongooses, bush pigs, otters plus bush bucks, also visit this swamp coming from the adjacent Kibale National Park.

  Overnight on a full board basis at Kyaninga Lodge.

• Day 3:

  After an early breakfast, you will depart on a Chimp trek.

  Kibale Forest National Park offers the greatest variety and concentration of primates in East Africa including about 500 chimpanzees! It offers the best primate viewing (particularly chimpanzee viewing) and has a bird list of 335 bird species and 140 species of butterflies.

  Overnight Kyaninga lodge on full board basis.

• Day 4:

  After breakfast you will be met and transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel.

  The Kazinga channel is a wide, 36-km long natural channel connecting the two Lakes; Lake George (which is to the east) and Lake Edward (which is to the west). From the safe boat you can see elephants, hippo, Nile crocodile and many water birds. The water birds are plentiful along the channel; African skimmers, African fish eagles, cormorants, saddle-billed storks, pelicans, etc.

  Overnight on a full board basis at Mweya Safari Lodge.

• Day 5:

  After breakfast, you will be met and transferred to Bwindi (Nkuringo).

  Overnight on a full board basis at Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge.

• Day 6:

  After an early breakfast you will depart for your gorilla trekking experience, which for many is the experience of a lifetime.

  There are two groups being habituated in the Rushaga area and you can join the researchers, trackers, and others in spending four hours with a gorilla family, add the hike to the group and back out again and you have a full-day activity that will stay with you for a long time to come.

  Overnight on a full board basis at Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge.

• Day 7:

  After breakfast, you will be met and transferred to Kigali International Airport.
